While in Morocco, Latifa Echakhch noticed little coloured satin threads appearing around the streets. In Kochi, Echakhch will reenact this threading of the city for Kmiss, wishing to reproduce the colourful residues, tracing an a nity between people in Kochi and Morocco, gesturing to questions of individual and cultural identity - personal and collective histories, and sociopolitical contexts and child labour found in materials. Echakhch becomes the caretaker in the relationship between these spaces so far apart, a guide who weaves together disparate threads into a dialogic whole.
