The 'Lena' is a so-called 'tjalk', a very well known type of ship in Holland. The ship was around 28 metres long and suitable for inland and coastal navigation. The cargo varied from peat to dung to seashells to pottery. The model of the 'Lena' was built by the fanous Dutch artist Daniël Hazenberg who was a skipper himself. The dimensions of the model are (lxwxh) 127,5 x 24,5 x 91 cm.
