A new performance of “Kordian” on the National Stage started a heated debate over Hanuszkiewicz’s model of the National Theatre. An element of stage design by Xymena Zaniewska, namely a ladder symbolizing Mont Blanc and, simultaneously, a cage restricting Kordian’s action under the bedroom of the tsar, stirred most interest among critics.
