When we think of Garda at one time, we must imagine a territory without real roads, which appeared only in the last century. However, the Garda has always been an important way of communication between the plain and the alpine area: this "road" was naturally run by boats that initially (II millennium BC) could be monooxide canoes, then Roman ships (square sailboats) and finally motorboats. We can see how all the ships crossed over the Garda waters have been immortalized on the rock by anonymous, but well-deserved artists.
