According to tradition citrus fruits were introduced on lake Garda in the sec. XIV to the Franciscan friars.
The first lemonades came on the Brescia shore, mostly in the territories of Gargnano and Limone, but they did not even disappear on the Veronese coast where the main center of this crop was Torri.
