At just seven years of age, Thanu was selected for a popular reality TV show - Superstar Singers - that premiered on Sony Entertainment. The show made Thanu a household name across India (at least for a few months). His grandmother, Sayathi, says "Thanu is the 'ladle' (apple of the eye) of the home, of the village and of the nation."
