Lady Elizabeth Compton from "Beauties of the Present Age"

Lady Elizabeth Compton (1760-1835) married Lord Augustus Henry Cavendish, the 4th Duke of Devonshire (later the Earl of Burlington), in 1782, shortly after she sat for the portrait from which this print is taken. Through her marriage she was later known as Lady Elizabeth Cavendish, Countess of Burlington.

The original portrait is now in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.
