Lakshmi

A painting of Goddess Lakshmi in an opulent purple saree seated on a lotus. In her ancillary hands, she holds the lotus and kalash or kumbh (the golden pot). Her primary hands are in the abhaya-hasta (gesture of protection). However, from the right hand flows gold. She is in a forest setting with a single elephant and a swan which is perhaps symbolic of diverse animal life.
