Lamassu

A lamassu seen from the inside of the throne room of the North-West Palace in Nimrud. The profile of the slab is carved in bas-relief and the legs are positioned as if the figure was walking.
In the background, is the outer court (babanu), which is now used as the entrance to the palace.
