Sarah Arbuckle … a success story
Sisters Mary, Ann and Sarah Arbuckle from Strabane in County Tyrone arrived on the Derwent in 1850.
Sarah married Joseph Richardson, a market gardener, farmer and landowner. The couple had several blocks of land at Cowes on Phillip Island. After her husband’s death in 1892 (his estate was valued at £6,643 pounds), Sarah managed the farm properties on Phillip Island.
