On the banks of the Medina River, Landmark Inn State Historic Site shares the stories of commerce and industry in Castroville, from its earliest days as an Alsatian colony into the modern era. The site, ideally located at the entrance to Castroville, is home to an 1850s inn, store, one-room kitchen, and gristmill. Each new owner redefined and repurposed the site and its structures, building a richer history as the decades passed.
