松本旻 Akira Matsumoto (b. 1936)
A native of Osaka. While working as a printer of Ukiyo-e prints in the 1950s, he began to create his own works as a print artist. From the late 1960s, Matsumoto made pop art-style works by expressing prints on newspapers, but switched to works employing dots to express landscapes or photography in the ’70s. He has won many awards at biennales in Japan and abroad.
