In Northern Siberia are larches the tree species growing up to the tree line. Those trees in the short Arctic summer grow particular slow and therefore produce very hard timer. Siberian larch timber is therefore used as long lasting building material. Here in southern Taymyr are still untouched forests existing over large areas.
