This long leather strap is made from buffalo hide by moran(warriors). The hide is stretched and cut in a circular pattern to obtain a sufficient length. It is then stretched between two trees and worked with hide scraper and fat for several days until its softens. The strap is used by boys,men and morans for various purposes such as to carry hives, to help tie bark on hides, to lift hives on and off the tree, carry meat, e.t.c. Women have a similar but smaller strap for carrying pots of water, firewood, meat, e.t.c.
