Leg trap

This leg trap is made of sticks from the pergeyuet tree. It is used by men for catching small animals mostly pechanit, mindset, yellow backed duiker and occasionally giant forest hog. The trap is set along the game trail. A man needs at least twenty to keep himself and his family fed, he catches two animals a week with these twenty traps. The kipsigis use a similar trap.
