Lençóis Maranhenses National Park is a protected area in northeastern Brazil. The name of the national park refers to its immense expanses of dunes, which look like lençóis (bedsheets). The rainy season fills its valleys with water, creating unique freshwater lagoons amongst the sand dunes.
