Leonardo da Vinci also explored other options for perpetual motion wheels. Here the wheel has four continuous channels fixed on an octagonal drum. Running balls in each of the four channels, make the wheel turn clockwise. Leonardo's rough sketch indicating the structure of the channels can be seen on the page to the left of the wheel.
