My dear Miss Frick:
Following our meeting, I reported to the members of the Committee of the American Council of
Learned Societies for the Protection of Cultural Treasures in War Areas our conversation and your very generous proposal to the Committee. I outlined to them the fact that you were ready to place the facilities of the Frick Art Reference Library at the disposal of the Committee. A resolution thanking you for your generosity and interest was adopted and the Chairman, Professor William Bell Dinsmoor, President of the Archaeological Institute of America, was authorized to accept your suggestions on behalf of the Committee and to make such arrangements with you as are mutually satisfactory.
I understand that Dr. Dinsmoor is to have the pleasure of seeing you tomorrow afternoon. I regret that I will be unable to come with him, as I have an important meeting of the Trustees of the Metropolitan Museum at that time which I must attend, and I am also going out of town on Thursday for a fortnight. If after my return to New York I can be of any service to you, please let me know.
Again may I add my own personal expression of gratitude for your interest and public spirit.
Sincerely yours,
Francis Henry Taylor
Director
