Letterbox that belonged to Maria Luigia

Balthasar WigandFirst half of the 19th Century

Fondazione Museo Glauco Lombardi

Fondazione Museo Glauco Lombardi
Parma, Italy

The little box, with a spruce interior and a maple exterior with light over-coating, has a parallelepiped structure with rounded edges adorned with phytomorphic applications, in metal alloy such as the threads, the handle and the lock. On each of the four faces are two watercolor miniatures in thin metal frames, signed "Wigand" and combined with an identifying lettering; above each one there's a plate with the name of a day of the week engraved in French; Tuesday is missing, almost certainly it was lost and replaced by the only not engraved plaque.
