Lewis Powell's Comb and Toothbrush

Toothbrush (right) used as evidence during Lewis Powell’s trial—it still bears the number assigned to it for the trial. In his testimony, George Atzerodt recounted meeting Powell for the first time: “A strong, stout man—no hair on his face—rather good looking—wild look in his eyes—he carried a tooth-brush with him.”
