Museo del Duomo e Cattedrale di Fidenza

Museo del Duomo e Cattedrale di Fidenza

At the entrance of the central portal the colums are based on two lions, one headed towards the north and the other towards the south; the manes are tight to the skin, their mouths open; in the place of the eyes are two holes, for the solemns celebrations glass eyes were inserted. Under their paws one cruches a winged dragon, the other a bovine; they symbolize the resurrection of Christ and his victory over evil.
