Lucent View (Original Pastel for Print)

Lucent View is a nightscene derived from the downtown Atlanta area. The dense, black background is a perfect counterpoint for the bits of light and the well-illuminated streets. In this work, the artist's stated attention seems to be deeply fulfilled. "The clarity of line and shade is intended to draw the viewer into the scene while the reproductive process and cold metal surface feel appropriate to the contemporary subject matter." Werger has been honored by several regional, Southern instituitions, and is represented by important galleries in Atlanta and New Orleans.
