Waistcoat of brown silk plush. It is waist length with the front curving down to a slight point. It has a rounded wide turn down collar and a low four button fastening. The pockets are welted and very wide, extending right across the breast from the top button level almost to the armhole. The buttons are domed, of wound gilt thread re-embroidered in twisted gilt pearl. The lining of the waistcoat is of beige holland and the back of beige twill silk, cut with a yoke and with two sets of brown tape ties. The pockets are lined with dark brown glazed holland. Inside the front peak of the waistcoat is a brown silk ribbon button hole loop, possibly for attachment to the front button of the trousers.
