Gonzalo Brañas asked for the Laboratory of Automation to develop a magnetograph, a device that allows to register the fluctuation of the terrestrial magnetic field. It was about a portable, more modern and reliable device that allowed to get over the disadvantages of the previous methods and devices, based on photographic cameras. Torres Quevedo Museum preserves two models nowadays.
