Main Drainage Inauguration Ceremony

From Dublin Main Drainage Scheme Souvenir Handbook, 1906. The Souvenir Handbook was published to commemorate the inaugaration of Dublin's Main Drainage scheme in September 1906. It contains a transcript of the speech given at the opening ceremony by Alderman Cotton, Chairman of the Improvements Committee (who oversaw the drainage project), a history of the city, an extended account of the progress of the Main Drainage Scheme and several photographic plates, including this one, amongst other material.
