Majestic Café

Opened in 1921 in Rua Santa Catarina, the Café Elite soon became a meeting place for Porto’s bourgeois and intellectual class. Later named Café Majestic, it is now one of the most cosmopolitan cafés in the city. Its lavish interior, designed by the architect João Queirós (1892-1982), takes us back to the Porto of the artistic, literary and political gatherings of the first decades of the 20th century.
