In 1918-1929 Sunspel began to export worldwide as one of the earliest British companies to export to the Far East. Records show shipment to Hong Kong and China was aboard the N.Y.K Hirano Maru, which sunk in the Irish Sea in 1918. This map is of Sea Island, where Sunspel grew and harvested their Sea Island Cotton.
