Mardi Gras march with pink triangle banner

1979's Mardi Gras march looked a like the previous year with similar truck and speakers. The Pink Triangle flag became an important symbol of gay activism after the first Mardi Gras into the late 1980’s, before the rainbow flag became ubiquitous.
