Attacking midfielder Maren Meinert represented Germany in three Women’s World Cups, including the 1995 edition. She featured on the right wing during their 2-0 defeat to Norway in the Solna final.

Months earlier, Meinert was a member of the successful German side that won the UEFA Women's European Championship in 1995, scoring the first of Germany's three goals in the final against Sweden.

Following her playing career, Meinert took up management and has guided Germany's Women's teams to two Under-20 World Cup wins in 2010 and 2014, as well as the Under-19s to victory in the the 2011 Euros.
