Realistic figure of Józef Piłsudski made of bronze.
It is 63 cm tall, 22 cm wide and 19 cm deep. At the back of the casting there are two inscriptions. The first one says “L. Kranc I T. Łempucki, Warszawa” and the second one “J. Szcepkowski”.
The Marshal is wearing a long, double-breasted, military coat and a characteristic hat on his head called “maciejówka”. He wields a saber in his left hand, which is resting on the ground between his legs. In his right hand he holds a marshal’s baton. The figure is most likely a draft of Józef Piłsudski for later creation of either the statue in Warsaw or Ostrowa Mazowiecka. The exhibit belongs to the collection of the Maria and Jan Szczepkowski Foundation.
The bronze casting was done in Zakłady odlewnicze “L. Kranc I T. Łempicki” in Warsaw.
