Marta Cooper is an American photojournalist best known for her work documenting the New York City graffiti scene of the 1970s and 80s while working at the New York Post. Her 1984 book "Subway Art", made together with Henry Chalfant, is a seminal publication on urban culture and is often referred to as the graffiti artist's bible.
This large-scale projection of a selection of Cooper's most famous photographs took place during Nuart in 2013. Cooper's iconic images, such as captures of Dondi and the wild style wall in Riverside Park, were displayed across the wall of local silos using a portable projector.
