Mascot "Jünter"

At the opening of the 1998/99 season, a plush foal about two metres tall is presented as the new mascot. Coach Friedel Rausch helps the team find a name: "Jünter fits best! From then on, Jünter is a popular companion for the Foals, especially among the younger fans.
The name "Jünter" refers to Günter Netzer, "Jünter" in Rhenish. Like Netzer, the mascot wears the number 10 on his back.
