'Maxi, Mini, Midi, Midi Midi (Mauve and Cream)' is one of a group of works in which Alice Channer has attempted to make sculptures of smoke rings. These works have taken different forms, but all involve casting in aluminium the edges (wristbands, cuffs, necks) of stretchy clothing. This is part of her ongoing investigation into the relationship between industrial and post-industrial materials and a post-human body. Like many of Channer's works, 'Maxi, Mini, Midi, Midi, Midi (Mauve and Cream)' is figurative but without a body.
