Mays Hill Gatehouse at Twilight

Now beautifully restored, the original Mays Hill Gatehouse was a three bedroom cottage that was built in c1879 as a caretaker’s residence. The caretaker lived and worked here, providing Parramatta Park with an onsite presence 24 hours a day. This gatehouse marks the historic entry of Governor’s Road – the carriageway once used by Governor Lachlan Macquarie.
