"Meal on the Battery of Danger"

Danger Battery was responsible for the direct attack on the counselors' defense, one of the most difficult missions. The soldiers appear in one of the houses taken in Canudos, and it is possible to observe the typical balcony of the residences, with rustic furniture. The children present are, probably, counselors' orphans. To portray them with the troops was part of a strategy to improve the army's image. The withdrawal and even the adoption of orphans took place after the conflict, in an attempt to mitigate the tragic outcome of the war.
