Medal and sash awarded to Iddo Munro for fastest time in Warrnambool to Melbourne race, 1909. Light blue colour silk sash (mostly faded to cream/ brown) with metallic coil tassels and painted inscription reads "AUSTRALASIAN ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP, / SEASON 1909-10". Medal has engraved shield centre and wings extending from the sides. Inscription on the shield reads, "DUNLOP / BLUE RIBAND AND BADGE / PRESENTED TO / I. R. MUNRO / IN RECOGNITION OF / ESTABLISHING FASTEST TIME / IN THE / WARRNAMBOOL TO MELBOURNE / ROAD RACE - 165 MILES / TIME 7HRS 13 MINS 51 SECS / DATE - 2ND OCT 09 / WORLD'S RECORD". Reverse has broken pin joints and makers mark stamped at bottom indicating sterling silver.
