Over the north doorway is a 15th Century wall painting depicting a 'doom' which outlines the differences between heaven and hell. Many members of the congregation would have been illiterate, so paintings such as this would have made the message clear to all that visited the church, regardless of their education or wealth. Before the 16th Century most churches would have had a 'doom' painting, though usually on the West wall.
