A gold 'loving cup' trophy with a round stepped hollow base, and a cup mounted on a stem. The cup features three handles, and the inscription "MELBOURNE CUP / 1934. / WON BY / MR. R. R. DANGAR'S PETER PAN / AGE 5 YRS. WEIGHT 8ST 10 LB."

There are two small stamps inside the base.
