This commemorative caskets was an accessory in royal creamation in memory of Prince Siriraj Kakudhabhandha. The bodies of these boxes were made of gold, silver, rose gold and wood and there were silver and gold-plated boxes. They were made in two styles, simple and decorative, with embossed figures of swans. The body of the box on display is gold-plated. Then the box was heated; the mercury vaporized and a gold covering remained on the embossed design of swans in a lotus pond. The swan represents Queen Sri Bajarindra, the prince’s mother.
The box covers were made of china with Prince Siriraj’s portrait in black-and-white or color. Boxes of this category were presented to members of the royal family only.
