This is a coat for men of the Joseon Dynasty. It is a kind of changui, or a coat with a back slit. It is characterized by the black strips covering the collar, sleeve cuffs, and trims. It had been told through legends that this type of coat was worn by immortals, Taoist masters and scholars. These coats were designed with black lines like simui coats, and were occasionally worn instead of the latter. It was also used as undergarment for official attire, ordinary clothes of the literati, uniforms of envoys, and shrouds. This type of coat was worn along with one of the following hats: a bokgeon hood, a vertically-waled waryonggwan, a triple-peaked jeongjagwan, an angular dongpagwan, and a flat-square bang.
