Pierced wooden mezuzah case with Hebrew inscription 'And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house' (Deuteronomy 6: 9). Made and sent to London - together with Hanukah lamp no. C 1988.18 - a wedding gift for the maker's son, Yechiel (Henryk) Leser, who married Ruth Sygmund in 1936 at Golders Green Beth Hamedrash.
