Snow landscape with big, oversized tree on the left and the village on the right. The branches of the tree are richly branched and barren. Under a tree a fruits like apples. Village painted in bright colors of red and orange tones that stand out in white and blue of the rest of the landscape.

Josip Novoselec was born in 1952 in Koprivnicki Ivanec. He started painting in 1968 and 1970 is the first public exhibition. Recently, he draws a very interesting series of landscapes with trees near water and with beams of light in the gloom, which is reflected in his art of painting the effects of light and soft and subtle shades of turquoise. In some paintings the colors are reduced to just two or three characteristic colors, or two or more tones of one color. These almost monochrome paintings give a special atmosphere, and those that are painted in the color range of brown patina, or archaic character and give a value of transience. In short: a "nuance" old, a nostalgic view of the peasant. For these aspects of his paintings are popular: the general public interest. He lives and works in Koprivnicki Ivanec, village near Koprivnica.
