It is an old hand mill used to grind grains such as wheat, barley and corn into flour. The millstone consists of two heavy basalt stones which are round in shape, with a diameter of about 50 centimeters. Each of the two molar stones is connected to a metal or wooden axis in the middle, where the upper stone rotates around it while the lower stone is in a stable position. Grains, such as wheat or barley are poured through a circular hole in the upper stone of the mill, which rotates to grind the grains and turn them into flour.
