Ann Cogdell Stanly was the daughter of Richard Cogdell and Lydia Duncan. She married John Wright Stanly. Together they had nine children, three died in infancy, the eldest survining son was John Stanly. Ann Cogdell Stanly died in summer of 1789 from yellow fever, just a month after her husband.
