The upper image of this collage is a hand-tinted photograph of Mission San Antonio de Padua, Neither the photographer nor the artist is known, but the photograph likely dates to the early twentieth century. The two lower images depict Mission San Gabriel Arcangel, California's fourth Spanish mission, founded in 1771 as well. The left-hand photograph, likely dating to the late nineteenth century, depicts the stone stairs along one side of the mission church, while the right-hand postcard (dating to approximately 1908-1915) shows the mission's facade.
