The tribal Rabari community in Kutch, is known for their colourful garments, hand embroidery and mirror work. Seen here is a woman embroidering a skirt. A variety of stitches is used for Kutchi embroidery including chain stitch, cross stitch, interlacing and buttonhole embroidery. The process is tedious and painstaking and each embroidered garment is unique. The inset shows a skirt border from Kutch.
