The men wear long tunics which we have also seen in this series worn by urban Muslim men, and in two cases Hindu men.The women's ensembles consist of a typical Gara embroidered sari known as the Gara and a western-style bodice blouse. The blouses were modelled on European dresses in vogue at the time, and used imported fabrics as well as embellished elements such as lace;lace attachments on the waists of the women. The style of wearing petticoats under the sari began around this time, along with pastel colours.
