Adopting Fengmen Stone, a top-grade variety of Qingtian Stones quarried from the well-known Fengmen Cave of Qingtian county, the artisan Zhou Jinfu, a male Chinese arts and crafts master born in 1959 in Wenzhou city of Zhejiang province, managed to illustrate ingeniously the heavy golden ears of rice with the natural color of the stone in a freehand manner based on the combination of traditional techniques of Qingtian carving and the ideas of modern art, leaving the viewers of this piece with lingering thoughts.
