The original plaster model for the Monument in Honour of Giuseppe Garibaldi and the Como Days of 1848. The statue was commissioned to Vincenzo Vela by the city of Como (Italy) to commemorate the Risorgimento hero Giuseppe Garibaldi. The statue was to stand in Piazza Vittoria, where it is to be seen today. It is Vela's last monumental work.
