Carte-de-visite of the Plaza de la Constitución, today known as Plaza Bolívar, adjacent to the building of the Congress of the Republic of Peru and the old premises of the Court of the Holy Inquisition. The equestrian monument of Simón Bolívar was placed around 1859 after his arrival in Callao from Europe, where it was manufactured. Its pedestal is made of marble and has reliefs on the sides of the battles of Junín and Ayacucho, the National Shield and an inscription dedicated to Bolívar.
